Amy Winehouse was a British singer-songwriter who skyrocketed to fame with her Grammy Award-winning album Back to Black. The Amy Winehouse Statue is in her home town of Camden which she loved. She was named Best New Artist at the 2008 Grammy Awards, where she also won a five award trophies.

Later on her Amy became troubled and her talent was overshadowed by her drug and alcohol abuse. The singer was later forced to cancel tour dates and was often seen on stage under the influence.

Winehouse was sadly found dead from accidental alcohol poisoning on the 23rd of July 2011 at the age of just 27 years old. The singer now has a new film dedicated to her in 2024 called Back to Black, starring Marisa Abela as the late Amy Winehouse.

Where is the Amy Winehouse Statue in Camden?

The statue of Amy is in the Stables, Camden Market. The life-size bronze statue of Amy was designed by her father Mitch and it sits in the , in the heart of her favourite hangout spot in Camden Market.

The Amy Winehouse Statue was erected on September 14th, 2014 and it was sculpted by a bronze artist Scott Eaton. The statue was set in place just three years after the singer’s death.

The statue is of Amy Winehouse wearing a short dress with a fitted bodice a belt and her iconic beehive hairdo. She has a pair high heels peep toe shoes on and a Jewish Star of David necklace around her neck. She stands with her hand on her hip in an elegant pose looking over the market in the Stables Camden.

When the statue was unveiled, a real red rose adorned her hair. Amy often wore a flower in her hair during her performances.

Now people queue for photos and leave friendship bracelets on her wrist and flowers by her feet.

• In February 2024 A Pro-Palestinian sticker placed over Amy Winehouse statue’s Star of David.
• The Statue stands at 1.75-metre (5 ft 9 in) tall.
• The sculpture was not meant to reflect a particular picture, outfit or time but it was intended to capture an amalgamation of her appearances.
• The Statue was unveiled by Winehouse’s friend, the British actress Barbara Windsor. Winehouse’s parents were also there Mitch and Janis Winehouse.
• The 14th September 2014 when it was unveiled would have been the singer’s 31st birthday.
